Another beautiful day for the Beautiful Game ... warm, mid-70's, sunny with a light breeze, the Evendale FC continues to draw as we had 24-25 players this weekend.
Dan started off the scoring with some nifty footwork and a soft touch, knocking two passed the keeper before the 15-minute mark. Missed opportunities on both sides due largely to some excellent defense and keeper play, with Scott M. and Sarah N. dropping back into the Dark team defense to provide a little extra support. Katie G. did likewise for the White team, keeping the scoring in check for the balance of the first half.
Not to be denied, and after a half-dozen brilliant saves by White Team Keeper Tom S., Peter and Sarah finally combined for a Dark team score. Arthur Joseph answered right back for the White Team, bending one in like Beckham and pulling the White Team ahead for a commanding 3-1. Pressure mounted as the Dark team fought back, launched shot after shot at Keeper Tom S., before the Dark Team connected again on a beautiful Peter-to-Kevin B. combination. But it proved to be too little, too late, as time expired on another well-played match by both teams.
