Hot and humid conditions this week, on an otherwise perfect and well-maintained pitch ("Thanks Kristin!!"), with more than 25 players participated in the weekly Evendale FC Match.
Fresh off a summer of soccer camps, Justin R. made his presence felt with a wicked strike from nearly 40 yards out, which skimmed just out of reach of Keeper Norm into the side netting. The challenge thrown down, the Dark team came immediately back with the equalizer, as Tiz S. knocked two passed Keeper Tom S., as he tried to do his best imitation of Tim Howard. Doubling her father annual output in just a single match, Tiz then found the back of the net again on a well-play ball from the Dark midfield.
Cutting through and around some outstanding defense by the Dark team, including some big time stops by Sweeper Katie G., "Two Goal" Dan got his weekly allowance, drilling two passed into the back of the net on a couple of perfectly placed balls. The seesaw match continued, as the Dark-side Dan and Heather F. scored on some tough Light Team defense. Light Team's Sam equalized, however, with a left-footed blast from just outside the 18. A few more goals exchanged, the final whistle end the match in another well-play draw.
