Friday, August 24 Match ~ Evendale FC Guidelines

The Evendale FC will play its next match on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at Evendale Recreation, Field #3. Please post a comment below and indicate whether you are IN or OUT for the match this week.

As we have picked up several new players over the past months, who may not know the purpose and guidelines for the match, I am publishing them here. Especially for those who have/are bringing guests to the match, please make sure they review these guidelines and play accordingly.

The purpose of the match is to create a fun, recreational, adult pickup soccer match for Evendale residents and their invited guests, and it is intended for players of all skill levels, including new players. Players are required to play the match in a safe and recreational manner, with the objective to have fun and avoid injury, not "win" a pickup game of soccer. The rules of play are as follows:

1. Safe Play Rules: No slide-tackling, no challenges from behind, and no reckless or aggressive plays. Use caution when challenging for 50/50 balls and when attacking the goal. Play the game in a manner that is consistent with a fun, recreational soccer match, in which the results do not matter.

2. Teams/Shirt Colors: Bring WHITE and DARK shirts to every match so that we can effectively create two opposing teams. Please do not wear gray and other colors that would create confusion as to your correct team.

3. Substitutions/Positions: Whenever players/substitutes are waiting, players are expected to be considerate and VOLUNTARILY sub out of the match. Especially in the first half, when players generally do not "need" a sub, please remember to rotate out and take a fair turn as a substitute without a request. Also, players are expected to take a fair rotation in both offensive and defensive positions.

Finally, please remember to check-in to the website and indicate whether you are IN or OUT for the week, so that other members can plan accordingly. Thanks.
