There are few things better than the feel of a soft, earthy pitch on a cool Friday night, under the lights to play the Beautiful Game. The Evendale FC convened for its weekly match, with 22 players lacing up their boots for well-played, high-scoring match.
And goals were scored by the buckets by the Dark team ... "Two Goal Dan" doubled his weekly allowance, knocking four goals past the White keeper before being relegated to defense (and then traded to the Dark team). Keeper Tim B. showed versatility and skill on the pitch, knocking in his own hat trick on several well-layed balls, including his soon-to-be-patented "stuck in the mud" finish. Justin laced one low and away, well outside the grasp of a diving Steve B. But it was the Owen "Maradona" show for the evening, scoring five goals for his White team, and putting the finishing touches for some outstanding midfield play by the White team.
O Jogo Bonito ... indeed.
