When to Start Back Up? Preference on Day/Time

Hello All:

I hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing "off-season." I thought we had a very fun and successful "club" last year, and I would like to start it back up again when the weather breaks and we have enough players to do so.

I am tentatively planning to start the Evendale FC Pickup games again on Friday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. But I am certainly willing to start sooner (like mid-March) if there are enough like-minded players. I am also willing to move the game to Saturday morning if that works better for the majority ... although keeping in mind that many Evendale FC have coaching duties on the weekends.

Please post a "Comment" below and answer the following questions:

(1) Are you interested in playing in the pickup game again in 2008 and, if so, are you "IN" for Friday, April 4, 2008?

(2) Are you interested/willing to start playing sooner than April 4? If so, by what date and/or temperature?

(3) Are you be willing to play small-sided (5v5, 6v6) in those weeks when we do not have enough for a full-field 11v11 match?

(4) Are there any changes you would like/recommend for our club?

Two final notes ... First, please spread the word and let's try to recruit some new members (preferably Evendale residents, but other like-minded players are welcome as well). They can contact me at my email address (atjanszen@gmail.com) or simply post a comment here and declare themselves in. Secondly, please make an effort to check in and post comments to indicate whether you are playing or not each week. Thanks.

I'll play on the 4th, but would LOVE to play earlier too. Either Friday or Sat. works for me. I'll have a better chance of playing longer on Sat. but either will work.

I wish it was April now!

Hi Gus, thanks for planning. John and I are in for the 4th. Mid-March with mid-40s would work. No preference on a time however Fridays work better since I will be coaching our U 14 gals in the spring.I'll help spread the word.

Gus,
The Blues sign Ivanovic and Anelka, Evendale FC signs Brint, Michelle and Norm. We would all be in for April 4th, can do either Friday or Saturday, and would play on the frozen tundra of field 3 this weekend even if it was 5 vs. 5! I've gaind like 10 pounds since we stopped playing... I need to cardio, other wise I will start to look like Ronaldo... only without the looks talent or money!

I should be available on 4/4. Fridays or Saturdays are fine. Would be willing to start sometime in March and to play short sided games.

We hope to play April 4th IF NOT sooner. We are open to temps and days. Helping Kim U14 girls and Fri. night softball (not sure of start date)are our only conflits besides the occasional sick child. short sided are fine with us as well.
Thanks, The Petes

Recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. As soon as I get the OK from my fine orthop. I'll be ready to go on either day or time, small sided is fine as well.
I would guess that Fri nights until youth spring ball ends will work better, then Sat a.m. during summer. Can't get here soon enough

Update - my return to action could be as late as July to be certain shoulder is sound and fully healed

Art, Like Ballack it is best you not rush back... besides, that is one less player on the pitch that has an extra 5 gears on me.... now about the other 20 some odd folks who are faster than me...

Runyans are in as well. Dan will be out for a while due to elbow surgery. Should be back early April. Fri or Sat is fine.

Phil and Lauren Cadman would love to play again. Fridays would probably work best due to three kids playing on Saturdays, but have not gotten the scedules yet. April 4th sounds good to us!
