As Amy Rodriguez and the U.S. Women's National Team celebrate a Peace Queen Cup win over Brasil (a small payback for the World Cup defeat last year), a full roster of Evendale FC players braved the cicadas for Saturday morning for a balanced, well-played game. With even 9v9 sides, it starts as the Franks Father & Son Show, as Two-Goal Dan and his son combined for several scores. Solid midfield play by Joe R. and Tiz otherwise held the Dark team at bay, as the White team pushed forward. The match alwso saw the long-awaited return of Brint (very solid in the back) and Norm aka The Wall. Sister duo Angela and Katie held off numerous attacks, but could not hold off Joe R. and Dave, who netted a hat trick in a little more than 10 minutes of play, bring the sides even at 5 goals a piece.
Our next match will be played on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Evendale Recreation Field #3. Please post a comment and indicate whether you are IN or OUT. As always, please bring WHITE and DARK shirts (no team-ambiguous colors).
