Match Recap ~ Next Match on Saturday, July 5 at 9:00 a.m. on Field #2

The rains came and went on Saturday morning, but the weather was no match for the resilient members of Evendale FC ... at least, with a little goading and encouragement from Fritz. Another strong showing of 24 players drizzled in for a balanced and high-scoring affair.

Like the torrential rains, the White team came storming out, quickly knocking three past Stormin Norm and some slack defensive play before the Dark team regrouped. Larry was doing his best Fernando Torres imitation and controlling the midfield for the White, but the arrival of Dave and Two-Goal-Dan-Junior brought some needed offensive pressure, and the sides were level at the half. The White team, however, was not to be denied ... Kristen S. knocked in a hat-trick, Tiz capitalized on a defensive miscue from the 18, and Tom S. notched his first goal of the season, sealing the victory for the White team. So not quite up to the Spaniard's victory in Euro Cup 2008, but no less fun and enjoyable!

Our next match will be on Saturday morning, July 5, 2008 @ 9:00 a.m. at Evendale Recreation Field #2 ... which is the large 11v11 field running adjacent to Glendale-Milford Road. Please post a comment to indicate whether you are IN or OUT for the match (and make a special effort to attend, so that we have enough players to run on the larger field). As always, please bring WHITE and DARK shirts so that we can create balanced teams.
