Match Recap (7/5) - Next Match on Saturday, July 12 @ 9:00 a.m.

Un-be-lievable ... Approximately one year ago, this game was six players (four adults) playing 3v3 with a couple of Pugg goals. The Fourth of July Weekend saw nearly 30 players come out to play the Beautiful Game, including the return of Colleen and John D., the date upon which the Shadleys finally outnumbered the Gorsuches, and the arrival of many talented newcomers (including Hillary and Ryan) for an extremely well-played and lively match.

Both sides scored early behind the fast pace of the "youth movement," that is, before Steve B. and the A.J. Mobius stepped up their games and shut down the young guns. Angela G. netted her first of the season with a screamer from about 15 yards out, while newcomer Ryan dazzled with his quick feet and left-footed rocket launcher. Katie S. and father Fritz provided need support for the Light Team, but were matched stride for stride by Tony and Brian for balanced play in the midfield. Hillary and Mike provided sound defensive support as well. Ultimately, Ryan and his counter-attacking stylings proved too much, as the Light team took a decisive 5-3 win after 95 minutes of play.

Our next match will be on Saturday, July 12 at 9:00 a.m. at Evendale Recreation Field #2 ... we will stay on the big field, assuming the same or similar numbers as last week. Please POST A COMMENT BELOW to indicate whether you are in or out for the match this week.

Please remember to bring white and dark shirt ... Do NOT wear gray or other team-ambiguous shirts. Also, please remember to be courteous to your teammates and sub out. The large field and regulation matches (90 minutes) allow plenty of playing time for everyone, even 30 players, as long as everyone remembers to rotate out of the game.
