Are you ready for some Futbol?
After a long winter and wet spring, there has been a "clamoring" for the Evendale FC weekly pickup match to resume play. So by popular demand, we will start play on this Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Evendale Recreation, Field #2. Field #2 is the large 11v11 field next to the Evendale Maintenance Department, running parallel to Glendale-Milford Road. A couple of notes and comments:
1. Please bring a friend (or two or three) so that we will have enough for 11v11 play and a couple subs. We are especially looking for keepers, as both of our "regular keepers" (Steve B. and Tom S.) are coming off of shoulder injuries. We could also use some new female players, as our numbers dropped towards the end of 2010.
2. Please note that Evendale has restricted the parking in the lot next to the field. So to avoid a ticket, you will have to park on the hill lot and walk an additional 50 yards. Consider it your warm-up.
3. Please bring white and dark-colored shirts. Anyone who brings team-ambiguous colors will play keeper!
4. Please post a comment EACH WEEK and indicate whether you are in/out AND how many extra players you will bring. Among other reasons, it will enable me to see if we need to switch to the smaller field. But ideally, we will average 25-28 players each week, which will be plenty for full-fielded play plus subs.
5. The Rules. The Rules have not changed and will remain for 2011. There are outlined on the sidebar.
Looking forward to another fun, safe and success season.
Jogo Bonito!!
