To Great Beginnings ... and Next Week's Match!!

Welcome back, Evendale FC ... A terrific turnout for Week 1, as more than 22 players came out for the match. The Rocket return in full force with a hat trick, only to confront a new nemesis in Mike (who may have had four goals, though I lost track). Outstanding keeper play by Norm kept the white team ahead, but his fine effort between the posts was support by outstanding defense from Katie G. Steve B. made his debut on the field, netting a nice side-netting goal in the second half, and Chris P. had a screamer from just outside the 18. An awesome day, with just five minutes of a welcome rain, left the crowd wanting more ... the match was called a draw by the sketchy Italian referee after 8 minutes of stoppage time!

The next match will be on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. on Field #2. Please post a comment below and indicate whether you are IN or OUT for the match. As always, remember to bring white and dark shirts, recruit comparable like-minded players, and try to be ON TIME this week ... there is a baseball game at 11:30 a.m., so we need to be off of the field by 11:00ish.
