Match on August 25, 2012, Upcoming Schedule

Perfect late summer temperatures and a very balanced match this weekend, with 24 players participating in the weekly pickup game. Highlights included a couple Messi-specials from Dominic C., including a chipshot over the Sieve after a bad goal kick.

Our next match is tomorrow, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.  Let's try to get started as close to 9:00-9:10 a.m. as possible.  As always, please remember to bring light and dark shirts so that we can make even teams.  You should also feel free to invite like-minded players, as we are getting to the point of the season when college kids return to school and our numbers drop.

Looking forward, we will continue to play the Saturday morning match through September 15, 2012.  At that point, we will collectively decide how and when to play the match, based upon numbers and availability.  SAY soccer is using Field #2 at 10:00 a.m. for the balance of September and October, and Field #3 (the only field with lights) is still under repair for the Fall 2012 season.  Therefore, our options will be:

     1.  Play early on Saturday mornings on Field #2 (8:00-9:30 a.m.)
     2.  Play small-sided on Friday nights on Field #3 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) 
     3.  Play full-field on Friday nights at Wyoming Rec (still checking on this)
     4.  End the season on 9/15 and start up again in the Spring of 2013

So in addition to posting comments about being IN or OUT this week, maybe post a comment indicating your preference and availability for games in September and 

Importantly, we will need a minimum of 16-18 "committed" weekly players to continue the pickup game ... without a core group of players, our numbers drop too low for a regular pickup match.
