Are We Ready for Some Futbol? Pickup Game on Saturday (5/31) at 9:00 a.m.

Maybe it is the World Cup ... Maybe it is the end of the school year and/or SAY season ...  Maybe it is that Field #2 is now ready for full 11v11 play (no more errant shots into the woods) ... Or maybe it has been eight months of training, conditioning, wind sprint to get into Evendale FC shape (okay maybe not that last one) ... 

I have finally heard from ten (10) players with an interest in starting back up with Saturday morning soccer.  I think we are official ready to start back up

The Evendale FC will start back up this weekend on Saturday morning, May 31, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.  I really have no idea where we are in terms of numbers, but we could always use a like-minded player or two.  

Just a quick refresher on the Evendale FC Rules of Play/Code of Conduct:

1.  Bring white and dark shirts.  No grays or team-ambiguous colors.  

2.  No slide tackles of any kind or nature from any direction.  

3.  Defenders must be goal-side to challenge for the ball.  You cannot play defense from behind.

4.  Both players must use caution on 50/50 balls to avoid collisions and dangerous plays.   

5.  Take a fair turn at keeper.  With very few exceptions, no one wants to be stuck there more than 10 minutes, and we all suck at the position ... no one cares.

6.  Lay up when the keeper fairly calls for the ball.

7.  Take fair substitutions when we have subs.  No one should have to sit more than 10-15 minutes unless they are really tired, out-of-shape, old, or all of the above.

8.  Have fun.  It is a recreational pickup game.
